Cucumber - Green Finger
I got these seeds from High Mowing Seeds. Green Finger cucumbers were bred by Cornell University. They are resistant to powdery mildew, has a small seed cavity, and stores well. It is considered a gourmet variety by some, along the lines of the European Beit Alpha, though some call it a Persian cucumber. It is burpless and not bitter. Said to be very productive, you can expect up to 15 cucumbers per plant (which doesn't seem as "prolific" as most retailers seem to advertise). This is a slicer with thin skin, though harvest size seems to vary. I've seen sites recommend 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 inches for best harvest... So I guess anywhere from four to ten inches is edible, though if you pick them smaller you'll get more production from your plants.
