Cucumber - Homemade Pickles
I got these seeds in a trade. As the name implies, this variety is specifically meant for home grown homemade pickle production. The medium green cucumbers should be harvested at 5-6 inches or less depending on what type of pickle you want to make with them. The prolific production might be due to the resistance against powdery mildew, downy mildew, and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). I did find different descriptions of size for this variety. A couple sources said they had vigorous vines up to five feet, while other sources called them compact, good for container gardens, and suggested they only get 18-24 inches tall ("bush type"). I'm not sure which is correct. This variety has white spines.
