Eggplant - Noong Ta Klong Pea
I got these seeds from Adaptive Seed. This one is a little different, being Solanum torvum. Originally found semi-wild by Adaptive Seed in Thailand in 2009, this unique eggplant is actually only used in its green immature stage. Even then it is bitter and filled with seeds. It's not meant to be treated as a vegetable though. It's an ingredient in green curry, coconut curry, and chile sauces. Add it in the last five minutes of cooking and when bitten into it will literally pop in your mouth. The few reviews I could find for this variety don't care for it as an edible, but suggest it as an ornamental. The small round green eggplants do turn orange when ripe, but should not be eaten in the orange stage.
