Pepper - Aji Verde
I got these seeds from PepperLover.com. Much to my surprise, Aji Verde (which literally translates to "green pepper") is actually grown as a red variety. Native to northern Peru, this variety is typically eaten fresh / raw, or used while still green to make salsa. It does mature to red if you allow it to keep growing though. While not favored on a commercial level, it does seem easy enough to find in little pepper shops on the internet.
The Aji Verde pepper grows to about 3-inches long and is said to have a mild heat. It is a Capsicum baccatum variety and is listed as being in the 40,000 - 50,000 Scoville range, though several other sites suggest the heat is milder than that.
