Pepper - White Bhut Jolokia
I bought these seeds from an auction site. Bhut Jolokia (Capsicum Chinense) were the worlds hottest peppers in 2007 (through 2012), being the first to exceed 1,000,000 on the Scoville charts. It has since been knocked from the throne, but remains an incredibly hot pepper. Also known as a White Ghost pepper, this is a natural variation of the more common red Bhut Jolokia. Like other super hots, this one can take a while to germinate, and it's not unheard of to still be waiting three weeks in. It also takes a while to mature, and is better suited for longer growing seasons, or for growing in a pot indoors. The peppers reach about 2-inches long, and mature from green to a creamy white color when ripe. A word of caution, don't count your peppers before they've formed. This variety is known for dropping flowers.
