Pepper - Bishop's Crown
I got these seeds in a trade. Bishop's Crown is also called Bishops Hat, Orchid Pepper, Balloon Pepper, Christmas Bell, Joker's Hat, Peri Peri, Pimenta Cambuci, Ubatuba Cambuci, Campane, Nepalese Bell, and Aji Flor. Maturing from light green to orange to red and measuring 2 inches wide and 1 inch long, these uniquely shaped peppers are good for stuffing, pickling, or salsa. It has 5,000 - 30,000 Scoville units but most of the heat is in the seeds and placenta, so if you remove them, the pepper is a lot more palatable. If using this variety for stuffing, be aware that the flesh is thin, so don't over-stuff them! Native to South America, this Capsicum baccatum variety grows 2-4 feet tall and can be grown in a container.
