Pepper - California Wonder
I got these seeds from several companies, and through a trade. You can buy them from Bounty Beyond Belief. The California Wonder pepper is likely the variety you see in your local grocery store - the green bell peppers ubiquitous with stuffed peppers and frequently found in farmer's markets across the US. This variety is Capsicum annuum, sweet and crisp, with thick walls, excellent for stuffing, cooking, or eating raw. Frequently used in the green stage, you can also wait for it to mature to red. There is a more disease resistant strain available (Cal Wonder 300 TMR) that came from this variety. This variety was once grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. I'm not sure why that's of particular interest, but it seems to be a point brought up frequently by almost every seed seller I found. It is considered an heirloom variety due to its long history.
