pEPPER - fARMERS jALAPENO
I got these seeds in a trade. Farmer Jalapeno, also called Farmers' Market Jalapeno, or Potato Skin Pepper, is a Capsicum annuum from the US. They are among the most unique peppers on the planet. The four inch long peppers develop heavy corking over the skin when it ripens, resembling the course netting of a cantaloupe, making them look more like potatoes than peppers. But don't let the disguise fool you! That corking gives these peppers a natural woodsy, mushroomy taste unlike other varieties. Roasting or dehydrating them can amplify that flavor. They are described as being sweet in flavor with a low heat, but they're also labeled as having 7,500 Scoville units of heat behind them.
