Pepper - Jalapeno
I got these seeds from All Good Things Organic Seeds, American Meadows and from trades. The classic hot pepper that most people think of is the Jalapeno pepper. At 2-3.5 inches long, these peppers are most often picked green, though they do mature to red. They are hotter in the red ripe stage and there can be a pretty significant difference in heat from 2,500 to 8,000 Scoville units. This Capsicum annuum originated in Mexico, and over the years many varieties of this pepper have emerged. See below for the Jalapeno varieties in my collection.

EARLY JALApeno
I got these seeds from Annie's Heirloom Seeds, White Harvest Seed, BBB Seed, and from trades. This version of jalapeno is better for cooler conditions and shorter growing seasons. At just 24 inches tall, these plants are sturdy enough that they won't break or crack from the weight of the peppers it produces. Peppers are 3-1/2 inches long by 1-1/2 inches wide and average 3,500 to 4,500 Scoville units.
