Pepper - Maria Nagy's Transylvanian
I got these seeds from Adaptive Seeds. Originally collected in 2008 in Transylvania from a woman named Maria Nagy, this Romanian heirloom hot pepper looks like a cayenne, but has thicker walls and a different flavor. It is grown for drying and making paprika, but can also be used for salsa, stir fry, sriracha sauce, or dried as part of a ristra. A Capsicum annuum, these peppers grow to 6 inches long and 3/4 inch wide on 2-3 foot tall plants. It is said to be productive and a good option for shorter season growers.
