Pepper - San Luis Ancho Poblano
I got these seeds from Kitchen Garden Seeds. The name for this one is a little misleading. "Poblano" is what it's called when used fresh, and "Ancho" is the term for the pepper when it is dried. This variety had some conflicting information while I was researching it. It can be used fresh, in salsa, for roasting, or for drying. The heart-shaped peppers are 5-7 inches long and 2.5-3 inches wide. They mature from dark green to red to a dark mahogany red when fully mature. They are a Capsicum annuum variety. The conflicting information seems to be with how big the plants get and how hot the peppers are. Some references suggested plants get 24-36 inches tall, while another advertised 36-42 inches tall. One reference states these peppers were 1,000-1,500 Scoville units, while another advertised 1,500-4,500 Scoville units.
