Pepper - Santaka
I got these seeds in a trade. Santaka is a Capsicum annuum from Japan, primarily used for cooking. Peppers are thin skinned, 2-2.5 inches long by 1/2 to 1 inch wide, ripen from green to red, and have 40,000-50,000 Scoville units of heat. Plants are 24-36 inches tall and can be grown in containers. This pepper is sometimes used as an ornamental because the peppers are held upwards above the leaves. This can cause some sun-scald issues, so if you're in an especially hot growing area, you may want to provide some shade. These peppers are good producers, with one source advertising up to 125 peppers per plant.
