Pepper - Violet Sparkle
I got these seeds in a trade. One of the most unique looking sweet peppers you'll find, these are pointed wedge shaped peppers (think of the short wide carrots Bugs Bunny used to eat before saying "What's up Doc?" in the old cartoons). They start out pale green, which fades to yellow with purple overtones, creating the appearance of a purple pepper with yellow streaks, which then fades to orange, eventually reaching it's fully ripe bright red color. They are advertised for the purple and yellow color phase, but they are not ripe at that point and will lack any significant flavor. Wait until it's fully red to pick it. Best eaten fresh, it can also be cooked with. Thick walls are sweet and crisp. Violet Sparkle originated in Russia and is a prolific variety. One review claimed they had 15-25 peppers per plant!
