Pepper - Hot Lemon
I collected these seeds from my own garden from a store-bought pepper (from Burpee). Hot Lemon peppers are an heirloom from Ecuador, but it seems as though they are exclusively available in the US through Burpee. They ripen from green to bright yellow and are said to have a citrus flavor. Plants grow to 18-24 inches tall. Measuring 3-4 inches long, these peppers were easy to dry, and I ground some up to make a powder as a gift for a hot pepper loving family member.
They are hot. I didn't find a Scoville number for them, but when I was hand grinding them in a mortar and pestle the entire room felt like we were exposed to pepper spray.
