Pepper - Ostra Cyklon
I got these seeds from a trade. Sometimes also called Ostry Cyclon, translated from Polish, it means Hot Cyclone. These are a paprika variety, but are hotter. I've found conflicting information on this variety. Some say it is a thin fleshed pepper for easy drying, and other sources list it as a medium to thick pepper with 2-3mm thick flesh. Regardless it is definitely meant to be a drying pepper to be used as a spice. The peppers start green and turn brown, eventually maturing to red. The plants may need support and are prized as highly productive - think 25-35 peppers per plant. Each pepper can grow to 5.5 inches long by 1.5 inch wide on plants that grow 18-30 inches tall. I only found one heat rating for this pepper and it was 5,000 Scoville units. I found a few reviews from people who've grown this pepper to claim it's on par with a cayenne for heat level, despite a few stores selling them as "mild" peppers. This one is hard to find information on in English, but I did find a few sources in Polish.
